Wow a first for me today, I competed with about 8 other people in an 'Air Jam'. Each artist get's a reference and a ticked up piece of paper. Everyone then gets 90 minutes to paint the reference in front of a big crowd of around 60 people. It's super stressful but also very fun and great for speeding up your technique. I tried twice today and managed to win at 'Intermediate' level but was smashed at 'Advanced' level. It was very exhausting! Felt very much like doing an exam back in school days. Last week I was lucky enough to win the second prize in the Exhibition Class at the Summernats Airbrushing competition. Summernats is a yearly hotrod and custom car show held in Canberra and they run one of the very few competitions for airbrush art in Australia. I won the trophy pictured and $400 worth of Iwata products. I cashed it in on a Custom Micron airbrush which I am enjoying very much. It was a huge thrill to get second prize as I wasn't even sure if my work would be good enough for display. I'm reeling this week. I got a $460 phone bill because one of my kids went over his internet limit on his iphone. Then I trod on a bloody skateboard wheel in bare feet in the garage.  It hurt like hell so I angrily threw it across the room. It sailed directly into my carbon fibre road bike and cracked the frame. :-(((((. Today I got home and got a speed camera fine in the post. I hope thats it for a bit!
